August 7 marks the 75th anniversary of one of the most brutal battles of World War II, the Battle of Guadalcanal. World War II veteran Roy Roush recalls his experiences as a member of the 2nd Marine Division during frontline action at this critical campaign. Roush enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on July 4, 1942, the day after the end of his junior year of high school.
